Paper Club in 2001
On January 29, the editors of Paper&Life were present at the first meeting of Paper Club in the new millennium. It is worth reminding that Paper Club unites leading paper and cardboard market members.
Paper Club differs from the majority of unions, associations, and clubs present in every sector of production and trade. Its main principle is an informal basis for the sake of democracy. Club meetings take place in the form of business talks: neither majority pressure, nor president or board, only informal communication over coffee.
One of Club’s successful projects — “List of companies having disputable points with suppliers.” Information exchange between Club members makes it real to uncover companies in arrears with payment and minimizes contract risks. Full information for Club members is available online.
Paper&Life is ready to publish materials reflecting the activities of Paper Club. Paper&Life being a powerful tool for popularizing ideas and solutions of the Club, the cooperation of leading paper and board market members is beneficial for both the magazine and the sector in general. Close cooperation with largest Ukrainian traders makes it possible for Paper&Life to publish interesting notes and impressions.
It is worth reminding that one of the main tasks of the magazine is trying to form a unified information field in Ukrainian paper and board sector. Our collaboration with Paper Club is another step in this direction.
June 2004: life goes on
Paper Club is a free community of equal partners, leading companies of Ukrainian pulp and paper market. During the four years from its first meeting, the Club members entered into stable “competitive” relations. In case a Club member has a professional question, it is enough to phone his competitor-“Clubmate.” The priorities of Paper Club are mutual respect and business ethics.
One of the main directions of Paper Club activities is close cooperation with Ukrainian manufacturers. Traders are in full measure interested in developing local pulp and paper market. Paper Club members maintain close contact with State Stock Holding Company Ukrbumprom and Ukrpapir Association.
Founded in 2000, “List of companies having disputable points with suppliers” remains one of effective tools of fair play at Ukrainian pulp and paper market. Unfortunately, almost every trader has a list of companies, which can be described as doubtful. Paper & Life systemizes the data and publishes it at this web site. Beginning from June 2004, a condensed version of the list is published in Paper & Life magazine from time to time.
