Russia: Volga Mill aims at 40% of newspaper market

Its strategic goal for the next 5–7 year JSC Volga defines as the annual output of 700 thousand tons of newspaper and 40% of Russian newspaper market, www.bumprom.ru informs. During 2004 the enterprise was preparing for groundwood mill reconstruction, and finally signed a contract for modernization with Metso in March 2005. Volga plans to boost PM#8’s production speed up to 1400 m/min and to settle the question of bark utilization.
