Ust-Ilim Timber Complex belonging to Ilim Pulp Corp. has started the second modernization stage, which is to end up with production increase of the bleached market pulp up to 700 thousand tons a year.
The project is a part of the long-term program for solving production, quality and ecology issues taking into account recommendations of Jaakko-Poyry consulting company.
The first modernization stage, scheduled for completing in 2006, implied boosting production up to 630 thousand tons from the projected mill’s capacity of 500 thousand tons. The total investment sum amounted to $19 million.
The second 3-year stage will draw $45 million of investments. One of the main tasks is to reduce discharges by 123.45 tons and emissions by 3175.96 tons.
