Russia: Arkhangelsk Mill reports results, wins control of Arkhbum

In September, Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill cooked 69.1 thousand tons of pulp, which constituted a slight upturn of 1.9% compared the approved plan, the mill’s press-service informs. The mill churned out 19.4 thousand tons of market pulp (+2.1%), 6.8 thousand tons of paper (+1.1), 38.9 thousand tons of containerboard (+0.6%), 11.6 million sq.m. of corrugated products (+3.6%), 707.5 thousand sq.m. of fiberboard (+1.1%), 31.3 million of 12-page copybooks (+5.6%).

During the eight months the mill cooked 620 thousand tons of pulp (+1% versus the same period 2004), including 172.5 thousand tons of market pulp (+0.4%). The total output constituted 62.3 thousand tons of paper (+1.4%), 352.5 thousand tons of containerboard (+0.9%), 95 million sq.m. of corrugated products (+1%), 6324.2 thousand sq.m. of fiberboard (+1.5%), 250.1 million of 12-page copybooks (+4.7%).

On October 11, the board of directors of Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill approved acquisition of 40.5% stock of JSC Arkhbum from Russian Titan. Mill’s stake will boost from 19% to 59.5%. JSC Arkhbum continues as an agent of Arkhangelsk. The financial results will be consolidated with the financials of Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill. The stock price is not disclosed.
