Neman Pulp and Paper Mill continues with the third production line, which is ready for 75% by now and houses a state of the art papermaking machine from Great Britain. Next year the mill introduces non-chlorine pulp bleach process from GL&V. After the project realization, Neman will become the most ecologically friendly pulp and paper mill in Russia, completely meeting local and international environmental regulations.
Neman Pulp and Paper Mill (Kaliningrad region) and Kamennogorsk Offset Paper Factory (both belonging to North-West Timber Company) started modernization in 2004. Total investment volume is estimated to reach $450 million.
The main project stages for Neman Mill include gas pipeline for local heating and power plant (2005), the third papermaking line (end of 2005), pulp line revamp with capacity increase (middle of 2006), a treatment plant for Neman city and the mill (2006).
