American Georgia-Pacific Nordic plans to construct a 300 million euro tissue converting plant in Tver region, www.lesprom.ru informs with reference to sources in the local administration. On January 31, Dmytry Zelenin, the governor of Tver region, and Raimo Kakko, vice-president Georgia-Pacific Nordic, signed a letter of intention fixing general positions of the project.
The new European-level plant will become the largest investment project for the region. It is planned to copy a tissue converting plant near Finnish Nokia. The production site together with a logistics centre will become the largest producer and distributor of Lotus branded tissue papers, paper handkerchiefs and towels.
The project consists of four stages and is scheduled for completion by 2018. The investment volume exceeds Euro 300 million.
