On March 31 and April 1 Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill churned out the first 530 tons of sulphate bleached hardwood pulp, cooked in compliance with FSC standards. On April 5, the first batch of FSC-certified pulp was shipped to Germany.
According to Anton Loiter, director for sales and marketing of Arkhangelsk Mill, western ecologically oriented markets are of top priority for Russian timber companies directed at exports. Consumers there are interested not only in quality, terms and prices, but in legal raw materials and transparent wood supply schemes as well.
