Neman Pulp and Paper Mill (Kaliningrad region, belongs to North-West Timber Company) announced results of the tender for constructing a treatment plant for Neman city and the mill.
Belekpol from Belarus was chosen among none companies from Europe, Canada, Russia and CIS countries. Manufacturing water from the new treatment plant will meet HELCOM standards.
Construction of the plant, which is planned for completion beginning next year, is one of the final stages of the mill’s modernization following introduction of ecologically friendly non-chlorine pulp bleach process.
The mill is ready for launching PM 9 from Voith at its third production line. 60 000 ton/yr paper machine from Great Britain will produce fine papers (office papers A and B+, offset papers for art editions). Annual output of Neman Pulp and Paper Mill will grew up to 130 thousand tons of paper. Total investment volume is more than $30 million.
