Ilim Pulp reported its results for the first six months 2006. The enterprises belonging to Ilim Pulp churned out 1.27 million tons of products, which constituted an upturn of 1.4% compared with the same period a year ago.
The output of market pulp decreased 0.1% to 728.4 thousand tons due to the maintenance stoppage at Bratsk and Ust-Ilim Timber Complexes. The total output constituted 374 thousand tons of cardboard (+3.1%), 148 thousand tons of paper (+5.9%). Pulping output grew 0.9% to 1.2 million tons.
Ilim Pulp continues to cut down supplies of raw materials from its own timber companies in order to optimize production. During the six months 2006, its subsidiaries supplied 1.4% less wood for pulp mills (3.3 million m3). Total supply volume increased 1.2% to 6.46 million m3 compared with January–June 2005.
