20-09-2006
/Paper&Life/

During eight months 2006, Ust-Ilim Timber Complex belonging to Ilim Pulp cooked 416.3 thousand tons of market pulp (1%% less than during the same period a year ago). Total pulping output decreased 1.9% to 449.1 thousand tons.

Bratsk Pulp and Cardboard Mill belonging to Ilim Pulp churned out 477 thousand tons of products during January–August, which constituted a decrease of 2.7% compared with 2005. The mill manufactured 326.5 thousand tons of market pulp (-1.7%), 145.9 thousand tons of bleached softwood pulp (-4.7%). The output of bleached hardwood pulp went down to 166.2 thousand tons (-0.6%), containerboard production constituted 150.5 thousand tons (-4.7%).

Production decline is due to a planned maintenance stoppage, which took place in May. In 2005 the mills were stopped in September.
