Russia: Timber industry looking forward to cooperation

On October 10 at the opening ceremony of the International Forest Forum in St. Petersburg representatives of Russian Confederation of associations and unions of timber, pulp and paper, woodworking and furniture industries and European Forest Confederation CEI Bois signed a cooperation agreement, www.bumprom.ru informs. On commenting on the event, Confederation president Valery Saikovsky and CEO of CEI Bois Michael Elliason underlined the necessity of sharing the experience of forest sector development practice between European and Russian non-profit organizations in order to form a basis for strategic course of the world forest industry.
