Swedish SCA is going to construct a $150-200 million paper mill in Tula region, www.bumprom.ru informs with reference to the company's representatives in Russia. On November 29, SCA Hygiene Products Russia signed an agreement with the administration of Tula region during the first economic forum of Tula. The first stage will require investments of $70 million.
The start up of the first production line might take place by the end of 2008. The output of the new mill, potentially one of the biggest paper enterprises of Russia, is intended mainly for local market.
On commenting on the signed agreement, Timofei Sokolenko, general director of SCA Hygiene Products in Russia, underlined the company's interest in Russian market of hygienic products with its high growth rates (7-9%) and huge capacities.
