BTG’s new creping blade is designed to reduce chipping

22-05-2007
/Tissue World/

BTG says its “revolutionary creping blade development” is designed to provide a solution for chipping-prone applications.

A new material provides a previously unattainable resistance to chipping induced by particles and contaminants present in the furnish, according to BTG. For cases where previously the profitable use of any conventional high-performance blade was prevented by chipping, Duroblade-Satiny and its material durability now remedies the problem. BTG claims that use of Satiny leads to much longer blade lifetimes, fewer blade changes and consequently additional tons at the end of the day.

According to BTG, “Thanks to Duroblade-Satiny, your tissue also benefits from an excellent stability of all quality parameters compared to other creping blades. The new material blade tip is insensitive to paper impact, enhances final paper softness and also limits dust generation.

“A more stable tissue quality also means better runnability, less scrap in the converting section and less recycling, making Duroblade-Satiny the best lever to increase your overall productivity.

“Duroblade-Satiny allows a significant increase in productivity, resulting in superior quality tissue for demanding customers.”
