After termination of its joint venture with Andritz on 1 October 1 2006, Voith Paper is again in the North American tissue market.
Voith is one of the major worldwide equipment suppliers for the pulp and paper industry. Over the last 10 years, Voith and Andritz were involved in a joint venture to supply and service the needs of the North American tissue market.
The world tissue market for Voith was divided into regions, making the various Voith locations responsible for specific market areas. For the North American market, Voith Sao Paulo in Brazil is the responsible location to cover this area. To assist with servicing the needs of its North American customers, the company has created a tissue group, located at Voith’s North American headquarters, in Appleton Wisconsin. This tissue group is responsible for all customer inquiries regarding capital investments, small rebuilds and spare parts in North America.
Voith Sao Paulo in Brazil is the COC (Center of Competence) for tissue machine development. This Tissue Machine group is comprised of over 50 dedicated experts, on-hand exclusively for the sale, design, and development of new tissue technology. Also located at Voith Sao Paulo in Brazil is the company’s PTC (Process Technology Center), which opened in 1994. Since then, many new technologies for tissue production have been developed in the PTC, such as TissueFlex Press, “T” ribbed Yankee, and most recently the ATMOS technology to produce premium.
