Russia: Ust-Ilim boost pulping output
During 11 months 2005, Ust-Ilim Timber Complex belonging to Ilim Pulp cooked 587.2 thousand tons of market pulp (6% or 33.1 thousand tons more than during the same period a year ago), the mill’s press-service informs. Total pulping output increased 3.7% (22.9 thousand tons) to 637.6 thousand tons.

According to Krage Jacobs, director of Mondi Business Paper Sales CIS, Mondi Business Paper has announced a price increase of 3% for office paper in Russian market, with effect from 1st January 2006.

During January–October 2005, the enterprises belonging to Osnova Concern churned out 29 thousand tons of newspaper, 37.2 thousand tons of paper, 110.8 thousand tons of board, 125.2 thousand sq.m. of shipping packaging.

Russia: Enterprises of Ilim Pulp boost production
During ten months 2005, Ust-Ilim Timber Complex belonging to Ilim Pulp cooked 530.9 thousand tons of market pulp (6.1% or 30.5 thousand tons more than during the same period a year ago). Total pulping output increased 5.3% to 575.4 thousand tons. According to Alexandr Razmakhnin, first acting director of Ust-Ilim, the enterprise continues to install new equipment as the first stage of modernization is under way.

Russia: Syktyvkar boosts board sales
In October, Mondi Business Paper Syktyvkar sold 6% more cardboard than planned and 16% more than a year ago, the company’s press-service informs. During the 10 months, the mill sold 1% more cardboard compared with the current plan and 6% more than in January–October 2004.

During January–October 2005, Dnepropetrovsk Paper Mill produced 24.2 thousand tons of paper and board, which constituted an upturn of 12% compared with the same period a year ago.

Russia: Neman Mill continues modernization
Neman Pulp and Paper Mill continues with the third production line, which is ready for 75% by now and houses a state of the art papermaking machine from Great Britain. Next year the mill introduces non-chlorine pulp bleach process from GL&V. After the project realization, Neman will become the most ecologically friendly pulp and paper mill in Russia, completely meeting local and international environmental regulations.
