 Russia: Arkhangelsk Mill announces results
In October, Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill cooked 66 thousand tons of pulp, which constituted a slight upturn of 1.3% compared the approved plan, the mill’s press-service informs. The mill churned out 16.6 thousand tons of market pulp (+0.5%), 4.9 thousand tons of paper (+2.9), 41.2 thousand tons of containerboard (+1.3%), 12 million sq.m. of corrugated products (+3.9%), 720 thousand sq.m. of fiberboard (0.0%), 16.8 million of 12-page copybooks (+0.9%).

Russia: Syktyvkar ahead of schedule
In October Mondi Business Paper Syktyvkar manufactured 65.5 thousand tons of paper and cardboard products (3% more than planned and 12% more than in October 2004), the company’s press-service informs. The mill cooked 47.7 thousand tons of pulp (13% more than the year before).

Russia: Ilim Pulp reports results
Russian timber company Ilim Pulp reported the results for nine months 2005. The enterprises belonging to Ilim Pulp churned out 1875.9 thousand tons of products, which constituted an upturn of 87.5 thousand tons or 4.9% compared with the same period a year ago.

Russia: GOTEK longs for leadership
End October, GOTEK Group launched the first converting line for corrugated containers production with full-color flexo printing in Novomoskovsk (Tula region). Total investment costs are estimated at Euro 40 million, 7 million already invested. Construction began December 2004. Trial runs of Midline-924 converting line (France), Signod packaging line (Germany), and Presona waste paper baling press (Sweden) took place beginning October 2005. By 2006, the company hopes to launch the second line. Annual capacity of the factory is 180 million sq. m. of corrugated products.

Russia: Kotlass releases September results
During the nine months 2005, Kotlass Pulp and Paper Mill manufactured 679 thousand tons of products, which constituted an upturn of 4.6% (29.6 thousand tons) compared with the same period a year ago, the press-service of Ilim Pulp informs.

Russia: Syktyvkar hits production target
Beginning from January 2005, Mondi Business Paper Syktyvkar manufactured 590,187 thousand tons of paper and cardboard products, which is 2% more than planned and 3% more compared with the same period a year ago, the company’s press-service informs.

Russia: Bratsk Pulp and Containerboard Mill output up 1.1%
During the first nine months 2005, Bratsk Pulp and Containerboard Mill (Bratsk, Irkutsk region), a subsidiary of Russia's forestry industry corporation Ilim Pulp, raised its commodity output to 520.8 thousand tonnes, 5.6 thousand tonnes (1.1%) up as compared to the same period last year.

In September, Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill cooked 69.1 thousand tons of pulp, which constituted a slight upturn of 1.9% compared the approved plan, the mill’s press-service informs. The mill churned out 19.4 thousand tons of market pulp (+2.1%), 6.8 thousand tons of paper (+1.1), 38.9 thousand tons of containerboard (+0.6%), 11.6 million sq.m. of corrugated products (+3.6%), 707.5 thousand sq.m. of fiberboard (+1.1%), 31.3 million of 12-page copybooks (+5.6%).

Ukraine: Development strategy for Osnova Concern
Osnova Concern accomplished a plan of strategic development for the next 3 year. According to it, Izmail Pulp and Cardboard Mill will boost its production capacities and launch new product grades. Next year it is to increase the output up to 56 million sq.m. of corrugated products, by 2008 up to 70 million sq.m. By now, operational speed of cardboard machine at Izmail Mill grew to 250 m/min, which is two times more than its rated capacity. The planned modernization will increase the speed up to 300 m/min.
